Book Your Visit to Island Hall
We are a small family run and owned home and pride ourselves on a bespoke service and in providing an experience which is not your typical 'country house experience'. Yours will be the only group visiting the house at the time and all tours are given by a member of the family. We do not have a cafeteria or restaurant, so each meal is specifically catered for and served within the house itself – this is reflected in our pricing: Group Information & Tariff
We welcome visitors in two ways
- PRIVATE GROUPS: Groups Visits follow a set format with a guided tour and set refreshment options (2 ½ hrs – 3hrs), charged at a 20 guest minimum entrance & 20 guest minimum price for refreshments.
- ON PRE-SCHEDULED DATES: Individuals or parties of less than 20 who do not wish to pay the minimum group charge are recommended to book through the Historic Houses: Invitation to View scheme on one of our pre-scheduled dates, where you can join like-minded individuals.
Any deviation from the set Group format is classed as a Private Party
Island Hall makes every visitor instantly welcome, it has been enjoyed by many hundreds of parties and tour groups with both general and specialist interests in the last 40 years since its careful restoration. The house has been photographed and featured in numerous prestigious magazines.
The Tours give visitors a chance to see the classical detail and panelling in the main rooms, handsome pedimented door cases, carved overmantels and marble chimneypieces, and the elegant oak staircase. The tour includes the history of the family and historical events which shaped the house.

Book Your Group Visit 2025:

For all our groups we offer exclusive hire for the duration of your visit. Both large and small groups may book directly through Island Hall, but a minimum charge for 20 guests will apply.
Booking For Individuals 2025:
Individuals or parties of less than 20 who do not wish to pay the minimum group charge are recommended to book through the Historic Houses Invitation to View scheme on one of our pre-scheduled dates, where you can join like-minded individuals.

Disabled Access
Essentially wheelchair access is possible, but not optimal.
The garden and ground floor of the house are accessible. Step free access is available via our courtyard and side entrance. A portable ramp suitable for wheelchairs can then provide access from the rear of the property. Our Ladies loo (which is on the ground floor) has plenty of space and a grab rail.
Once in the garden, though there is gravel as well as grass so the amount of garden which can be enjoyed depends on the type of wheelchair.

Mill Yard free public car park, Post Street, Godmanchester (PE29 2AQ for your sat nav purposes) which is adjacent to Island Hall itself.
Parking for Coaches:
Coaches are welcome to drop off passengers in front of the house.
The coach driver should use:
18, Post Street, Godmanchester, PE29 2BA for sat nav purposes.
- There is a set down point on the main road directly in front of the house gates. Please ask your coach driver to respect our neighbours by not parking in front of their houses.
- The coach must then move to the layover bays at Huntingdon Bus Station free of charge offered on a first come first serve basis. Postcode: PE29 3PR.
